HFMD Scare...

Guess we were really very lucky that Celest was not infected else it would be madness at home. Actually got her slight running nose to be thankful for. The events happened quite fast & after one another...Let me recap back...

Sept 29 Mon

Celest was having slight running nose & thus was being sent back from school.

Sept 30 Tue

Today was the Children's Day Party but i didn't let Celest go to school as i wanted her to rest 1 more day. Got 1 case of HFMD reported today.

Oct 2nd Thur

Celest went to school today. Received a call from her teacher asking me to pick her up earlier as she's having slight running nose again. They also said that there were 3 new cases reported & thus advised me to bring her home as her immunity is low. Later in the evening received news that 1 more new case. Decided to let her skip school the next day as quite a number of cases now & hopes that the spreading will stop over the weekend.

Oct 6th Mon

Today didn't let her go to school as wanted to monitor the situation first...Luckily we didn't as there were 5 new cases today.

Oct 7th Tue

Received the official email that the school will be closed with effect from tomorrow. The email was being sent at 9pm+ & i heard that some parents were unhappy about the sudden closure. Earlier in the day, I called back to check on this matter as i knew that it should be quite near their trigger level. Ms Shikin told me that they are awaiting replies from MCYS & MOH and only after hours, I received the email. She said that the trigger level was between 11-15 & depends on case-by case basis. There were 1 more cases reported bringing it to 11 now.

Oct 8th Wed - School close

Oct 10th Fri

Today got 1 more new case but it's from the K1 level as the boy has a siblings from the PN class. To date, total of 12 cases.

Oct 20 Mon - School reopen

4th Wedding Anniversary

Today was our 4th year wedding anniversary. Now with 2 kids, we didn't have much places that we can go to. Decided to eat at nearby Square 2 mall & selected Zhou's Kitchen. Initially wanted to eat at the Waraku Spaghetti but the queue was too long. The food's not bad, especially the Ee-fu Noodles. The long popiah is nice, minus the wasabi mayonnaise. Carine was being a very good baby & slept mostly. Celest as usual was being friendly with the wait staff & began doing faces at them...

Back @ School...

Celest finally went back to school yesterday after a long break due to the HFMD closure. The school actually reopened on Mon but being KS, we decided to let her go back Wed just in case.

Yesterday got alittle trouble getting our princess to go school. After her milk, she lie down on the floor & pretended to be sleeping, telling me "Celest sleeping". Had to coax her to go with the help of the 'Dinosaur sweet'. Hubby said that she has no problem going into the classroom after seeing all her favourite teachers.

Today, again she resisted to go school. She will try to pretend not to hear what i told her & say i want to read story book, i want to play this, i want to do that etc.. Haiz, as usual got to reward her with her sweet before she left the house willingly.

Jamie's Full Month

Asleep Most Of The Time....

Just came back from Jamie's Full Month Party @ Sheraton. The party was great, food was nice and a great chat with good friends. I wanted to be there earlier but just minutes before we left the house, we had two crying babies on hand. It was nightmare man as both hubby & me took charge of one each. Celest was probably crying cause I woke her up from her sleep and she got cranky. I had a hard time getting her to stop & comforted her. I told her that we are going to a party & it will have lots of balloons & chocolate cakes. That got her to settle down pretty fast. :)
As for Carine, most probably she got woke up by Celest's loud crying & got hungry. So friends, pardon those friend with kids who are late as it's really the truth & inevitable.

Jamie & Carine
New Additions To Our Group

The ballroom was decorated up very nicely with balloons etc & it looked very cheerful & cosy. Carine was a good girl and was asleep most of the time despite us trying to get her awake. Celest was enjoying herself under the care of Mervyn, Daphne, Maomay & her bf. That enabled me & hubby to enjoy our food in peace. Haha. Was very appreciated that they dote on her very much especially M & D. They managed to kept her entertained & seated in her high-chair till the end of the event.
Our group is getting bigger man, with the addition of a maid & 2 babies. Next time when making reservation for gathering, it will be for 9 adults, 1 kid & 2 babies!

Carine's 1st Outing

Mummy & Carine & Celest

Our 1st outing ever since Carine's born was to go to the airport as Celest had always wanted to see aeroplanes for a long time. It's been quite a while since we last went out because of my confinement. Hubby decided to stop over at the Terminal 2 as for the past few times, we always went to the Terminal 3. We had a little brunch at the Tong Shui Cafe before bringing Celest to the viewing gallery. She can recognise an SIA plane and will say 'Singapore Plane'. Hubby put her on the stroller when I brought Carine away for breastfeed. She refused to leave till we say that we will bring her to another place to view the aeroplane which is Terminal 1.

Not That Picture Perfect Though...

Looking @ aeroplanes..

Carine's 1st Month Jab

Today we went to Dr Ong's clinic for Carine's 1st month jab. As usual, there's lots of patient waiting but luckily, newborn got priority. Hehe. Carine was sleeping soundly as she just had a bottle of formula milk before we left the house. Hubby was asking me if i want to bet whether she will cry during the injection.

The assistants weighed her & she gained about 2kg in 1 month @ 4.9kg! Must be all the breastmilk that she had been drinking! During the consultation, Dr Ong said that the red birthmark at the back of her head will go away in about 1-2years time. Phew.. When being jabbed, she did cry alittle but stopped soon after Mummy carried her. What a brave girl.

These few days, her eyes are able to see better now. She's able to turn her head to where we are. Hubby was there making her exercise her neck by walking right & left & she also turned her head/eyes to the direction. She doesn't really like to be swaddled as very soon, she will kick it off & her hands & legs will start exercising already. Her heat rash are getting better, hopefully it won't come back again. She's drinking about 120ml now on a 3hrly basis, sometimes during the day, she will get hungry in 2hrs!

CL Had Left!

The confinement lady went back today. When she was leaving, a feeling of sadness came over me and i started to miss her. Not that she's a very very good CL but that I had to handle the baby alone from now on. Actually, I thought that her work was quite OK. She told me that she won't be accepting any stay-over assignment now as she prefer daytime only. There goes my chance of getting her to help me IF i had #3.

Actually we felt that she didn't really put her whole heart into helping us as compared to last time. Maybe it's because she knew she won't do for us again? or feel shortchange as we agreed on $2300 1 year ago when i booked her? Hmm....The rates for a local CL is currently at $2800 which is really very expensive compared to a Malaysian $2000. But, due to hubby's work nature, I had no choice.

The whole day, I was there changing the diaper, feeding her milk, burping her, carrying her to make her sleep. I was so busy that I forgot to go to the toilet until late in evening! Initially, I forgot that a newborn would pee & poo very often. As a result, I didn't check and change Carine's diaper. It got red a little. Now I really think auntie is great and had lots of patience.

It was no joke to make Carine sleep. When you carry her, she would doze off but as soon as you put her onto the cot, she will fuss very soon. My backs breaking by the time i slept & I was soo tired & sleepy.

The 1st day of handling her alone was quite 'mang zang' for me. Don't know why i was abit nervous, stressed & pressured to get my housework done altogether. Think I must try to let go alittle else will burn out very soon. It was not until 11pm+ when she had down another bottle of milk then did she finally fall asleep.
