Xmas Show 2008 - Hello Kitty & Winnie The Pooh

It's the time of the year when malls would usually have cartoon character show to attract those young shoppers. I remembered that last year, I brought Celest to see these shows with the SMH June friends. So fast man, another year has passed. Now with a baby in tow, I can't go out as & when like last time. I have to ask my mother-in-law to help in looking after Carine at home while I bring Celest out.

We first went to Bishan J8 to catch the Hello Kitty Show. It started just when we got there. Phew! Celest actually knows who is "Hello Kitty" but it's not me who introduce her to it. Maybe her school friends/ teachers? The show was abit boring to her as it's in a storyline and she's too young to understand the story. Guess the best part is the 'let it snow let it snow' part where there's 'snow' popping out. Those sitting right below the 'gun' was in a mess though. After the show, we went to Mac for a quick bite as we need to rush to Taka to catch the Poohbear.

There was some miscommunication as there was no show at the Taka. It's only Meet & Greet session. Brought Celest to queue up for a chance to take pictures with Pooh. Surprising she wasn't afraid this time round to get up close with Pooh.

Animal Resort

Hubby didn't go to work today as he worked late till the wee morning. Just happened that during last night MSN chat, got to know that they are going to the Animal Resort. I then decided to join them. It's been a long time that I brought Celest along to all the outings as I need to look after Carine.

We met Naomi @ Yio Chu Kang station to share a cab there. The taxi driver haiz missed a turn & we had to make a detour. Actually the place is very near to the Roti Prata shop that we went at Jalan Kayu. Think the next time we will go and eat prata, can bring Celest to visit again. But, the inside road really abit confusing - rural area, we had to make a call to ask for directions from the place.

There are many small animals/birds at the resort, even a dog training school. It was the 1st time Celest was in such close proximity with them. We first went to the rabbits corner & bought some carrots to let the tods try feeding. Celest wasn't afraid at all and let them nibble the carrots. I was worried that Celest would be naughty by putting put her fingers inside and got bitten by the rabbits. After watching the rest threw the carrot inside the cage, she also follow suits.

Some geese appear & we bought some food to feed them. Naomi very brave to go first. Haha. All the goose went on to 'attack' her (food of course). I asked Celest if she wanted to try & she gamely agree. But, while trying to feed, she dropped the food onto the ground as soon as 1 of the goose nip at her hand. It was very ticklish feeding them. Later on, two geese were fighting and was really noisy. The keeper had to separated them and placed one away in a corner. We took the chance to explain to the kids that if they are naughty, they will also be put away in their 'thinking corner'.

Fish feeding time! See Celest breaking up the crumbs & threw them into the pond. There were also some other birds (don't ask me for the name, haha) at the resort. We got the kids back to wash their hands & settled for a fried rice lunch there.

We then went to Kelly's house to visit her as we heard that she's sick. It was really a house full of toys/books. Think Celest's toys only 1% of hers so naturally she was busy enjoying herself! It took some time to leave the house later also.

Sleeping Solo

Just started to train Celest to sleep in her own room in her own single bed over the weekend. I promised that i will buy Pooh Bear bed sheet for her so that she can lie on them. Hopefully Aussino will have sale coming up so that I can fulfill my promise.

The new seahorse mattress is better than the no-brand one we had. No wonder last time when she was younger, she doesn't like to sleep on it. So far, these few nights, she slept through the night with 1/2 exceptions. Like yesterday, I found her sleeping beside me on my bed in the middle of the night. Our doors are all opened so she can find us if she needs us & also enable us to hear her cries.

Celest would usually ask either hubby or me to accompany her first. We would then leave the room once she is sleeping soundly. At night, daddy will be sleeping on the floor to watch her. Maybe in a few days time, she can go solo.....

Carine's 2 Month Old Now...

Carine's going to be 2 month old tomorrow. I wonder how much weight she has gained now. Weeks ago, her eyes are able to follow us & now she is showing expressions. Her eyes will be big & seems to be like talking to you. I still have not been able to capture a picture of her smiling. She did her first poo! on me inside the bathtub a few days ago man. Old memories came flooding back during Celest's time. I had to scramble to take her out of the water, clean her up, change the water etc..wishing that i had another pair of hands to help.

Her 6th week growth spurt seems to be over. Her body clock seems to have adjusted back & able to sleep through now. (Crossing my fingers) It was terrible back then when during the night she kept crying & didn't want to sleep & wanted to be carried. The moment you put her down on the bed, she will wake up & cry. She's currently drinking 140ml of ebm & hopefully i can continue to breastfeed her till at least 1year old.

1st Time Look So Solemn In Picture...

I went to fetch Celest home from childcare today. It's been around 2 months since I last went there. Their new outdoor playground is up & their indoors going to be renovated soon. Think the principal & Ms Chng couldn't recognise me at once as when they first saw me, I was pregnant & fat & ugly.

When i was packing her bag, saw a pleasant surprise. I had almost forgotten about her class photo. There she was standing obediently carrying a plush toy opening her eyes big for the shoot. Wonder how did the teachers/photographer coax her as usually, she will flash me her trademark 'no eyes' smile. Hmm, or maybe that's the point that they don't want to see any teeth out? I definitely look forward to her next year 2009 class photo & it will be a great comparison to see how much they had grown.

Last time, Patsy was telling me about the baby swimming that she had brought Perle to. It was meant for babies below 1 years old & Celest was 'overage' then. Now that Carine was born, decided to make use of the free trial voucher that was given together with the Similac hamper.

As it was a weekend, there were many people there. The place doesn't give me a good feeling when it's crowded. Abit too untidy & messy & doubt the baby would be able to enjoy in peace. We waited quite sometime for our turn. While waiting, a family came along & they were admitted 1st. Got the hunch that it's because they are a paying customer while we are on free trial. The lady helped to put Carine into the tub. She doesn't seem comfy in the neck float, or maybe it's me who's not comfortable. Hehe. Carine doesn't seem to like the swimming. She just stayed still there without much movement. The lady said that it's normal for their 1st time. On the other hand, the baby in the tub next to mine was splashing about happily so much so that, i am abit wet from her splashes. I took her up after about 15min as she was getting hungry. Probably it expanded alot of her energy. Doubt i will go back again due to the hygiene issue. :)
