Animals Book

Words/Animals Book

She got these 2 books way in the beginning. I had shown & read to her daily then. After awhile, realise that she can remember all the words in these 2 books subject to 1 or 2 usual 'mental block' like the 'monkey', where she will like to say it in Chinese 'hou zi'.
Finally get to recording them last night after procrastinating for a long long time. Haha. See the videos!

Singapore Fireworks Festival/ Fairmont Hotel Stay

Daddy & Mummy!

Hubby's cousin (Magdalene) booked a hotel room at The Fairmont Singapore for the 2N1D night for us to view the Fireworks Festival. As she is working in the hotel itself, she managed to reserve the room at a staff rate.
On the previous night, we were at home and Celest could only hear the loud 'booming noise' from our windows. She was scared as she thought it was thunder. I told hubby that it would be different when she saw the fireworks together.

The Day & Night View From Our Room. Pardon My Poor Photography..

In the morning, we went to Bukit Timah Food Centre for our breakfast with Simon's family. Celest woke up quite late at around 9am+. After breakfast, we went to Turf City to walk around. The 2 guys decided to do some car viewing, leaving two 2 heavily pregnant women + 2 tots some time to spare. We sat inside a cafe while waiting for them.
As we had too much time to spare & scared nowhere to go, we slowly ordered our items to prolong the time. Had drinks followed by waffle and then onion rings... Phew, the two guys came back less than our estimated time and Celest had started to show restlessness.
Celest then saw a children's corner and wanted to come down from her high-chair. We went over to the balloonist who gave Celest a flower balloon and drew pretty flowers on her right arm.

Looking Out....

We checked into the hotel around late afternoon. The room was pretty and cosy, of course with a nice view overlooking the bay area. Definitely a good place to catch the fireworks but the sky looks set to disrupt the firework.
Managed to get Celest to catch a wink so that she won't be cranky and tired later in the night. Had our dinner at the foodcourt downstairs and by then, Celest was busy running around in-between the two rooms, enjoying herself and looking at the view.
She called the Singapore Flyer 'balloon' and she doesn't seems to be afraid of heights. We were at 21st floor, Room 2135 and 2136. While waiting for the fireworks, our relatives were chatting with each other.
Some of hubby's nephews brought along their handheld games & one was gracious enough to lend it to Celest to play. It kept her occupied for a long time. Not that she know how to play the game, she was just satisfied with pressing the buttons and watching the animated screen. Don't think we will get one for her in future as it's quite addictive. We asked her 'Whose one?' She replied 'Celest's one'. Can really faint as she thinks that whatever item is in her hands, it's hers!
Later, when she finally returned back to the owner, we asked her the same question again. She replied ' Gorgor's one'. Haha

The fireworks started soon at 9pm and all eyes were on the sky. Celest wasn't afraid as what I have expected as she covered her ears only. After the event ended, most relatives began to take their leave.
As the weather has been wet these few days, I did not bring any swimming attire for Celest during the hotel stay. Decided to soak with her in the bathtub and let her enjoy the water for awhile. It was her 1st time soaking in a hotel bathtub. I was abit worried whether pregnant women can soak in 'warm' water. Will the heat make the blood circulation faster? affect the baby? Paranoid?
Anyway, thankfully nothing happen. It was so comfy soaking in it, reliving my back aches etc that I had experienced for the past few weeks. Celest too had so much fun in it that she refused to get out. Hubby got to forcibly carried her out and try to distract her.
It's been a long time since I last stayed in a hotel when hotel was my 2nd home in the past. It was almost 12midnight by the time Celest slept and after a hot soak, all felt very relaxed and slept quite well.

Morning came and surprised to see Celest waking up at nearly 10am! She must be very tired last night and most probably also due to the hot water soak. Actually, I was roused quite early by the noise that was coming from the marathon. It was sooooo loud! We had BK for breakfast and lazed around in the room till checkout in the late afternoon.

Daddy, Scratch!

These few days, Celest has one mosquito bite on her thigh which has not gone away yet. Think it must be a very 'poisonous' mossie as the swelling and red marks are still there for so long.

She would go to her daddy when he's sitting on the armchair, climb up and get daddy to scratch the area for her. Next, she will arch her neck backwards, pointing to her neck and say 'scratch' also. Hehe. But hor hubby was slightly irritated after repeated 'requests' which I don't know why.

For me, I see it as they are getting closer together. It all boils down to hubby's impatience. I tried to scratch for Celest sometimes but she preferred to be in daddy's cradle, lying in his arms while having her itchiness scratched.

National Day Celebration @ CC 2008

It was only 2/3 days before 8th Aug when I received an email from the CC for the children to come dress in red/white. Haha, that got me scrambling to search through her wardrobe to find something suitable.

Phew! Luckily, I have an attire for Celest. The night before, I was telling her about the party that they will be having the next day and cakes etc. Celest was very excited and come the next day, she let me got her prepared without much fuss. Her mind must be thinking about the 'cake' that I have told her. She has a soft spot for cake man, especially chocolate cake.

That day was my turn to fetch her back from CC. After i signed in, I noticed the photo display board had changed from the Science Centre trip to National Day Celebration. I saw Celest's photos on the board and was very happy.

It was the 1st time that I ever had a picture of her taken in school. Got one picture of her smiling very happily, waving the pom pom. There is another picture of her putting her hand around Zoe's shoulder. So cute! The picture costs 50c each and I ordered all whichever her face appeared. That comes up to 4 piece only. Hehe. Will try to scan them and post up soon once I lay my hands on it.

'Mei mei Buy Elmo'

That day, she saw one Elmo toy inside the store room. I didn't let her play because she has quite a number of toys already. Her toy box is bursting you see.... So, I took the chance to tell her that the Elmo toy was bought by 'Meimei' for her as a gift. I have heard and read before that when #2 is coming, can buy a little toy for the elder one, using the baby's name so that they won't feel left out/ jealous.
Well, no harm trying when I have spare toys at home. These few days, I have been reinforcing the idea that 'Meimei' buy an Elmo toy for her till now she remembers it very well.

Q : What did 'Meimei' buy?

C : 'Meimei' buy Elmo.

Q : For who?

C : For Celest.

Q : Did you thank your 'Meimei'?

C : Thank You 'Meimei'

But, hmmm, the Elmo toys are still in the storeroom as I don't have the chance/time to take it out and let her play. Maybe the day when I bring baby home? Just hope that the two sisters can live in harmony and love with each other.
