2nd Class @ GUG

Celest went for her 2nd class on sunday and her class was supposed to be changed to room 1 so to enable her to be with her friends, Kelly & Wei Wei. As we arrived late then, we rushed into the wrong class without checking and told the teacher that she had been changed to her class from room 2.

The bewildered teacher made a check and told me that we were in the wrong class!!! heehee The class that we went was Room 3 which was catered for toddlers aged 18mths and above. One parent even chatted with me and asked Celest's age. Guess she must be wondering why a 17mth baby can be together with her child in the same class. Haha.

I brought Celest to the correct class, room 1, but she was abit cranky. The class had a few crawlers and we subsequently met up with Weiwei. The original teacher was on leave & relief teacher, Aida, took over the class for the day. During the toys away time, Celest was reluctant to let go of her shaker and went screaming away after the shaker was taken away. There were 9 babies in the class and teacher Aida drew 9 flowers on the board. She then took out a boardbook, full of farm animal pictures, and begun to mimmick the respective animals' sounds.

The activity for today is to build a nest of eggs. Before starting, they had to pick up 3 'eggs' from the floor. Celest managed to pick up 2 eggs easily with me helping for her 3rd. Daddy brought her to wash her hands and he took over for the next half lesson. I stood outside the door peeping at them as I worried that daddy could not handle her. True enough, after sometime later, her crying was heard and I took over again till the end of lesson.

There goes my shopping plan for next sun. She got 'f' for the card today and we went to match it at the walls. The last part is music. Teacher Aida set up the piano. She liked the piano very much and wanted to touch and play with it. I stopped her a few times from going over to disturb the teacher. Maybe I should bring the electric piano at granny's home for her to play. Hmm, maybe can buy a small piano for her to play...

Alarm Clock + Vacuum Cleaner

Celest likes to mess up the side table at the bedside. Daddy realise that she was scared of the alarm clock sound 'RING!!!!!!' Haha. So, now every time, she go near them, I will make the alarm ring and she would scurry away. Haha...

Last time, she liked to follow me whenever I vacuum the floor, something that excited her. It was only recently that we realised that Celest was actually scare of it. Whenever we aim the end suction part at her, she would run away. Sometimes, I used this to chase her away when she disturbed me doing the floor. Haha...

Celebrating Daddy's Birthday

Daddy's birthday was yesterday - 29th October. In the afternoon, we went to Great Grandma house to celebrate his birthday as there was a combined celebration. Another uncle also celebrating his birthday. They row the eggs & choose 4 numbers for 4D.

Celest had her fair share of choosing her 4 numbers and I asked her if is the number that she was holding 'the one' ? If it's not the one, then put it back & choose again. She ended up choosing and putting back to the laughter of all those gathering around her. She was quite cranky that day and she didn't want to sleep when we reached the grandparents home.

Decided to leave early for Suntec City so that I could try to make her sleep again there. When we reached there, she was attracted by all those bright ceiling & the colour full waterfalls. I had a hard time making her sleep and she ended up sleeping only at 8pm, which lasted for an hour. Dinner @ Joaquim. Guess that will be my last time there. As, out of 6, 4 of us had a bad case of diarrhoea. daddy, myself. Uncle Simon and Auntie Patsy. What an ending for daddy's celebration. Happy 30th birthday, Daddy!!! We love you!!!

For yesterday, we went on our own celebration. Originally wanted to bring her to go see Dr Lim but got to postpone at the last minute. As I went for a last minute interview at the Safra Mt Faber. Haiz. Best part is I didn't apply for the job. I was quite relaxed as there was no stress for me to get the job since I was going for courtesy sake.

But alas! I could not fit into my working clothes and I did not have a proper clothes/ bags to go for an interview. Haha. Time for shopping liao. Anyway, I met daddy and Celest at Plaza Singapura after the interview. Celest was excited to see me from a distance and started to scream happily, wanting me to carry her. How I miss her so.

I recommended Waraku Japanese restaurant as the food is nice and price is reasonable. Food taste is even better then those Sakae Sushi etc. Celest got a free toy and service was excellent. The staff likes to play with Celest, giving me and daddy some time to eat our food in peace. As usual, Celest charmed the staff with her trademark smile & funny faces. Actually, we were abit embarrassed as Celest kept screaming and scared that she will disturb other customers.

A Visit To Dr Lim

Just brought Celest to see Dr Lim for her flu which were persistent for the past few days since the zoo visit last week. Her 'sticky mucus' were hard to clear as it kept coming back, especially when she cried. Dr Lim said it maybe inflamed and gave antibiotic to clear the germs. Also gave me a medicine that will bring on running noise so as to clear the 'dirt' inside.

I decided to go see him as well there is a shuttle bus service to Mt Alvernia Hospital at Novena Square which is quite convenient for me. Now, dilemna over which PD to stick to. Should I stick to Dr Low? Dr Lim? Dr Ong? Daddy don't like Dr Ong as he feel that he was impatient & most importantly the queue is very long. Left with 2 now... Hmm.

I raised my concern over Celest's speech development with Dr. He said to give her up to 2 years. He also said that if we converse in two different languages to her at home, she will speak even slower then those who speak only one language at home. But, she will pick up both languages faster next time as compared to those single language. Well, just have to wait & see. Everyday praying hard that she will speak soon.

There was a 2yrs old boy at the clinic who kept on snatching her toy while at the toy area. The maid had to keep separating him away from Celest who appeared to be scared of him. He kept chasing her around the clinic and poor Celest was running away from him. Thus, you can see the 2 of us running & running. Celest would occasionally glance back to see if he was still chasing her.. Looked kinda cute but it brought on another thought. What if in the childcare how? She can't talk yet and she is defenceless. Just like the scenario above, Celest can only run away from the boy and hopefully someone will stop him. Haiz..

Overdose!!

Haiz..This happened on Mon night after we came back from granny's house. Found a Lawyer letter on the floor. " Writ of Summon " to be exact. There was a note that says to call them back regarding the accident that happened last year august. When can we have a closure on this? We were wondering why the sudden letter from them as we thought that it should be taken care of by the insurance company NTUC Income. Daddy mentioned something of a civil suit. That got me worried as we don't know what had happened. The law firm was closed so the earliest we could know would be till the next morning.
Celest was down with flu at that time so I fed her Zrytec in the morning and Actified in the afternoon. Was to fed her Zrytec & Polaramine at night before she slept. The nurse from Dr Low's clinic reminded me that I cannot mixed Zrytec & Actified together when I called them earlier the day to ask for advice. I was not thinking properly and I fed both medicines together to Celest. I only realised it when after feeding her the medication, I was bringing her to bed for milk feed when I noticed she was unusually quiet. I was in a fluster by then.
After I took Celest to bed and fed her with milk, I tried calling the doctors. Luckily, Auntie Pauline said that I could get to Dr Lim by calling the emergency number. It was late at night around 10pm+ and I was ready to go to the KKH if I couldn't get any doctor soon. Dr Lim responded and I told him what happened. He assured me that the dosage weren't high enough based on Celest's age & weight. The side effect would only be 'tiredness & drowsiness'... He asked me to wake Celest up at 3am to check on her consciousness. Everything is fine if she respond.
I guess I was over zealous as I disturbed her twice prior to 3am. I was so happy to hear her fussing and crying when I disturbed her sleep. I went back to sleep soon after that....The next morning Celest woke up as per normal like nothing happened. Thank God for that.
Daddy called the NTUC hotline who advised him to go down tomorrow morning to pass the letter to them. As for the Lawyer letter, well that's what made me angry. The lawyer say that they issued the letter to us as NTUC was very slow in their progress & reply. They wanted to finish this case fast & so to get a fast attention, they sent it to us. We checked the net & realised that it was wrong of them to do that as it was between them & the NTUC. They shouldn't sent this kind of serious letter to us public. It was not ethical. Lucky that nothing serious happen to me, else will definitely take action. Piss....

1st Day @ GUG

Yesterday was Celest's 1st day of the school term at GUG and she was assigned to Room 2. Her classroom is very cold, especially the floor, but I think she was the most warmly dressed in the class. Met many new friends - 2 Brendan, Stella, Kaiyi, Issac, Jereme etc...As usual 15min of freeplay followed by 'Toys Away' time. There were 10 students. Teacher wrote on the whiteboard & draw 10 flowers. As usual, she went up to the teacher & board in order to understand the lesson better.
Letter for today is ' P ' . Teacher brought out the secret animal Penguin from the magic bag. She appeared apprehensive of going up to touch it & tried to turn away when teacher came over with it. P also stands for Pasta & Potato. Teacher passed around some Penne Pasta for them to touch & fell it. She thought it was some kind of food & put it in her mouth. For art & craft, they were given cooked potato to play with. They were to touch it, play with it, squeeze it etc, as it was meant to improve their hand & eye coordiantion skills etc. She wasn't really interested in touching the potato. Next, they had yummy baked potato to eat. I scooped some onto the spoon and she put it into her mouth to eat. It smells very nice & taste yummy. Going to ask teacher next week how to make it.
She got the letter 'S' today. Samy snake 'S'. During the break, Kaiyi shared his honey star with her. Haha. Overall, today was enjoyable & the time passed quickly as well. Next week, I will be getting Daddy to go in with her while I go for my window shopping. Hehe. I wonder how it will work out...

Screaming Celest

Monkey @ Work

Crept under the sofa
Many Faces

Lately, Celest developed a strong interest in screaming. Be it happy, angry, cranky, tired, throw tantrum etc. Sometimes, she would just scream while I was carrying her. Ouch! My ears hurt. I was worried that she would hurt her vocal chords. My neighbour has a 4yr old son, sometimes when she scream, the boy will scream back as well. Headache!

Celest has yet to talk and we are looking forward for the day to come. Over last weekend, we went to Popular and saw a Fruits chart which interest Celest. She tried to snatch it from me and I told her that she need to pay for it first.
I pasted it on the wall at home and Celest would point at the fruits picture sometimes when she walked past, blabbering away. This morning, I asked Celest to fetch her4 board books seperately and she managed to bring the correct title each time. I was delighted...
The metal gates is her favourite place now which she love to climb on them. *Faint* . Now, she can go up 1 level already but I'm worried that she will fall down. Where got baby girls like her one. Celest loves to 'talk' to neighbours and she will run to the door to say "Hi" to them whenever she heard doors opening or people walking past.

Celest 1st Trip To Sentosa

Yesterday was Celest's 1st trip to Sentosa. Baby Jake, Xander, Aloysius, Junrui, Jaezen, Jezoir were also going together. She woke up at 7.55am, seems to know that I am bringing her on a trip, as she usually wake up around 8am+.

I was abit extreme as I packed the bag to the fullest, only to realise that alot of extra items were unnecessary. Celest was the only rose among the thorns. Haha. Met up with Auntie Dal at the Gateway & drove in. We parked the car at the Rasa Sentosa carpark. After that, we walked up the Siloso Beach to find the rest. They were under the shades in a pavilion when we found them. It's free & easy time. I let Celest roamed around in the area which she ventured out into the sand. It was her 1st time in contact with sands and her walking stance on the beach was hilarioous.

There were a group of guys playing volleyball nearby, which caught Celest's attention, and she started to walk towards there. I immediately pulled her away, worried that the ball will hit her accidentally.

Baby Junrui left us soon after that. We went to the Silver Shell Cafe to have our lunch which I ordered seafood horfun. It was very nice and Celest was tired and hungry by then. After she finished her milk and a few patting, she fell asleep. I was praying hard that she would not struggle when I put her to zzz. It rained when we were on our way to the hotel. I was 70% drenched in her sweat & rainwater. Haha. Thankfully, Auntie Yen Ni told me to bring extra clothes for myself. I changed into a new set of clothes and relax a little before Celest woke up shortly after. I ordered a special order of Mashed Potato for her.

Celest & Jezoir had a little incident. Haha. Like in those movies, whereby the guy fly forward to kiss the gal & end up both fall to the ground due to the force. After lunch, we went to the hotel playroom & they were on their own. There were LT cars, slide, horse, kitchen etc. They were having alot of fun. Not to mention there was a piano which Auntie Lyn played a tune for us.

Waterplay time. Went to the hotel pool. It has been a long time that Celest last went swimming already due to the lunar seventh month. Nevertheless, She had alot of fun in the water but was still quite cautious. Always standing up. Aloysius is really at ease in the water. Very confident & sure & not scare. Look like a big boy. I brought her to wash up and we parted at the hotel. Me, Lyn, Yen Ni went to take the monorail back to Vivo City to wait for our husbands. Had a drink at the Kopitiam foodcourt. Bumped into Uncle Tong Seng & mommy told him that daddy was on the way. Went back to grandparents' home for dinner after that. Celest had such a wonderful memories of today's outing that she woke up around 5x in the night. So tiring.... ...

1st Visit To Bedok Library

Last friday was granny's off day so as usual, we went to visit her. On the spur of moment, brought Celest into the library to see what are the selection they have for babies at her age.
It was the 1st time i went up to the 2nd/3rd level eversince it renovated years ago. Memories flood in. I told Celest that when I was young, I, together with Jiu Jiu and Yi Yi, used to frequent the library and borrow tapes/videos to watch, staying there for the whole day. Haha. Free aircon mah. The children level is at 3rd floor. The board book selection was quite good. There were small tables/chairs & reading area for kids. Not much to worry about the safety except for 1 thing as most of the furnitures are low & their height levels.
Well, had a bad scare that day. My hands were full with the bags, books etc. Was about to pack up and leave when Celest suddenly ran off. When I saw her ran past the corner bends, which were near the staircase, I gave chase and saw her standing at the stairs area & afew steps away from the steps already. I was scared out of my wits and one uncle, who was standing near to her, carried and handed her over to me. He remarked that kids run very fast, be careful. Defintely a lesson learnt. " Never leave your eyes off the kids for 1 second"

After that, I borrowed 4 books under my account and it struck me to made Celest's very own library card. As I was having her passport with me at that time & thus was able to do it. I borrowed 4 books under her account and redeemed a bag. I tried to redeem for the CD gift bag to see if the librarian can close 1 eye. Haha. Well, I failed as she said that only those born after Sept 06 is eligible... Sigh.. hahaha...

16 Months Now...

Thought of buying Celest her own chair..

@ Home. Happily messing up the house
Destroying her books.
@ Takashimaya

I love this pic as I managed to capture the moment when Celest kissed Daddy. So sweet!

Time flies and she is 16 months now. We are planning to put Celest at Kinderland @ MOM when she turns 18 month. I left with 2 months to accompany Celest at home from now. Anyway, we will only decide after looking at her development 1st as we scared that she cannot cope. Oh well... Although Celest is unable to talk yet, her blabbering power is still very much in place.

This worries me alot as I've seen alot of Celest's peers are uttering one syllabus words. She did call out 'mama' 'mum mum' 'papa' but not actually meant to call us. She was just blabbering away. I really hope to hear her talk soon. I consulted Dr Low but he said that some babies talk later, so long as she knows who is papa & mama when she was asked to go to. Well, she passed this test with flying colours, as sometimes she helped me to bring things to daddy & vice verse. Next, he also check on her eyes to see if she could follow moving objects, which is not a problem for her as well. We were worried that she got autism.

Recently, I started to teach her to say 'banana' and she only uttered 'na' or 'nana'. Seldom she will say the full word or if not, she will just ignore me and keep quiet. Have to depend on her mood. heehee

Guess I have to keep on trying to teach Celest who has became more agile and active. Got to watch her hands closely especially when we go shopping. Coz once while at Vivo Giant, she saw me reaching to get a pack of eggs from the top shelve while I was carrying her then. Out of sudden, she reached out and grabbed those eggs pack in front of me. In the end, she broke 2 pkt of eggs. There was a guy promoter stacking & arranging the eggs below and thank goodness, the eggs missed him. He was very nice to waive off the charge for us. Guess Celest was stunned by the 'drama' as her face tells it all, looking about to cry. I think she realised that she had got herself into trouble.

Grandparents, uncle, daddy and myself took turns to reprimand her for the trouble that she created. She looked as if she would cry anytime soon. Haha. Well, the fact was that we didn't really blame Celest but we reprimanded Celest with the intention was to see her 'pitiful' face. So mean...

Daddy remarked that Celest is a good actress which I have no doubts about that. It's a shame that I didn't capture it on video. After a night sleep, I tried again the next morning but she seems to have forgotten about it and displayed a non-chalant reaction... heehee....
