Kinderland Visit

We brought Celest down to Kinderland @ MOM for a visit as we should be putting her there for childcare. It is defintely much better than the PCF behind my house. It is more organised & i got good assurance.

Celest started to run around the centre as she was excited with all those new toys etc. The lady said it's normal for their first few days as everything is new to them. Celest will be under pre-nursery group. Currently there are 4 children of her age group there while the rest are slighly bigger & will be moving to the next level soon.

Spotted 1 girl around her age & she was actually a april baby. She seems to adapt quite well & heard that she came in at 18mth. Celest will have a 'girl friend' then. The slots for May was full & so had to decide between April or June. Will have to give it a serious thought at home over the weekend. While we were chatting with the lady, Celest kept running around & disappearing. Sometimes, she kept running to the music room where all the keyboards were kept. When we were leaving, Celest refused to go. Ended up had to drag a crying baby out of the childcare centre.

Taxi - She can do with her hands flagging like an adult. Haha
'Di Di' - Brother - I always asks her if the baby is 'Di Di' or 'Mei Mei'. Her reply always 'Di Di'. :)

GUG Class

Celest has been with the Parent & Babe class for 2 terms now. We originally intended to stop her class when hubby finally decided to continue with it at the very last last minute. We upgraded her to the Tots class now. Hopefully that she can mix well with the rest of the kids. Her new class will be on every sat at 11.30am. Hubby said that we can have breakfast at Mac on every sat morning at United Square now before bring Celest for her GUG class. Haha.

"Uncle Simon"

Nowadays, Celest wasn't really scared of me nor hubby now. Last time, mere mention of my hubby still can curb her but slowly she got over this "obstacle". So now, we have been using hubby's friend, "Simon", as the bad guy. Haha. Probably he has a fierce and stern look . Sometimes it work and sometimes it won't. Depends on situations.

Chinese Number

These few days, we have been teaching Celest to say out numeric 1-10 in chinese. She will always say 1,2 then skip 3 &4, going on to 5-10...So strange whenever she skip that. Think she couldn't pronounce the 'San' & 'Si' yet. All the 'S'. It was quite a surprise for me when i heard her repeat after hubby. I seldom hear her say chinese words. Her most frequent words is 'Hi' & 'Bye Bye'. Shall try to video it down. Watch out here for her video!

Valentine's Day

'Hi'

Today is Valentine's Day & hubby is on leave. We met up with his parents to go to temple & pray in the afternoon. Decided to go to the newly-opened restaurant, 'Shokudo' @ Raffles City, to try it out. Was craving for some japanese food actually. Haha. We reached there early & took a seat at Mos Burger so that Celest could have her milk & nap. Hubby was impatient to wait for her to wake up & thus tried to wake her up after she slept for about 20mins. Guess who we met there again! Its Daphne & Mervyn. We seem so fated together. Their table actually had a baby chair already. Well, it was good also as the 2 of them like Celest who, in turn, likes them too. At least, me & hubby can have our food in peace. Haha.

For those who wanted to go there, please do go early as the queue is damn long. I mean as early as 6pm. The variety there was good & food was not bad as well. Hubby ordered the japanese omelette & Celest was slurping it. Yummy! Think have to go again to taste the rest. I fed her the rosti & my curry rice...She loves it.. Later on, Mervyn ordered a burger & got some french fries. She kept asking for it so fast, abit scary. There was a small play area for them to play. See Celest riding on the horse. But, the air condition was very strong! Please bring your cardigan. Hmm, abit sad, no flowers? no present? I asked him & he said feeding me at home without me working is my present! That's what he said when i ask for my birthday present last december. :(

Celest's a Dog.

Today was Chu 7 aka 'ren ri'. We had our yusheng dinner at Lai Wah Restaurant. So funny, we always sat at the same table. Celest was very happy that night. She ate from the table with all of us. Guess her favourite dish will be the noodle. After our dinner, we went to the River Angpow for a walk. Sadly, it was not that crowded & the activities were disappointing. Most things remained the same & there's nothing much to do. We left soon after that.

Look What Hubby Did To Celest's Hair!

Hubby has been asking me to bring Celest for a haircut as he finds the fringe too long. Usually, i will try to clip it up as sometimes Celest doesn't like to clip. I was feeling very tired when i woke up & decided to sleep in abit later. I was still groggy from last night's flu medicine. Vaguely, i remembered that hubby had bathed & fed her milk... When i woke up, hubby asked me to look at our girl. Imagine my shock when i saw her hair. Her fringe was very short & uneven. Very bad & ugly. Lucky that she's still small & didn't knew anything about 'face'. Hubby asked me to bring her for her GUG class as he's 'ashamed'. Haha, i said no of course. All his friend's commented about it & he told them that it was my mum who cut it. Haiz! Wait till i asked my mum to read this. :P Looks like i will need to bring her to Audrey & ask her to help me save her hair.

Yucky Medicine

Celest had a bad cough for the past 2 days. Decided to bring her to see Dr Ong together with Patsy. The queue was rather long and we estimated the waiting time will be around 3 hours. We went to see another PD, located at Serangoon area. At one stage, I was hesitating whether to bring her to see Dr Low on my own but decided to go with them in the end. The initial consultation was $75.

Celest, as usual, cried badly when she saw the stethoscope coming. Patsy came in to help as she thought what happened. I was ermm used to it already. No amount of toys could calm or distract her. The PD said that she got abit of ' Qi Guan Fa Yan' and it is at the initial stage. He gave us some medicine which Celest never took before. One was an anti-inflamnation medicine & it was very bitter i guess. Usually, Celest would be able to stomach medicines without any fuss at all. The 1st time i gave her this, she choked, coughed & fussed very badly. Phobia man to feed her everyday & i got to complete the course.

Every year, hubby's friend will take turn to host the CNY gathering. This year, Siaw Kiat offered to be the host by holding the gathering at his home. We went there after Celest's GUG class. Lili was there by the time we reached. Shelly took out Reye's toys & spread it in a room. Celest was soon busy playing those toys. The guys as usual started their cards game while the ladies were talking and watching the kids. Celest was probably too tired from all those playing that she napped for 2hours & was the last to wake up. I even had to wake her up instead of letting her wake up at her own pace.

'Po Tai' House In Malaysia

Today, need to wake up very early as hubby is driving us into Malaysia to visit my grandma. Celest woke up the moment i carried her from her bed. What a light sleeper! Inside the car, she was enjoying the view outside so much so that she didn't went back to sleep at all. It was a 1hr journey there & she only dozed off when we were reaching our destination. We left home at 6.45 am.

As usual, she was abit apprehensive about her surroundings & was close to me. It took the barking sounds of dogs to make her at ease. Haha. My uncle then took her to see those dogs. She was very happy & was there screaming & laughing & 'oh oh' ing away. She was very tired & dozed off for her nap very fast. We were there till lunch & went back to Singapore to go to Pelin's house after that.



On the way back, the jam at checkpoints was terrible. It took us 2hrs+ to get to Bedok. We went to AMK after sending my mum to work. Pelin's house got new sofa/stools & Celest love the green 'hand' sofa especially. I think it fits her just nice. Haha. She was climbing all over the place especially the stairs. Even Mervyn was perspiring when he looked after her while we played mahjong even though we were in an air conditioned house. I asked her to give the 2 mandarin orange to Pelin's mum to 'pai nien' & she ran away after doing that. I fed her some noodles before sending her off to dreamland. There was a elder girl who came & took Celest's hand. Celest followed her readily & to my horror, they were heading towards the stairs. Phew!

Her Chu 2 New Year Clothes

Today, decided to let her take her nap before going out. We be going to hubby's grandma's place again. (For gambling lah) I let her wore the red dress that her ah ma bought for her. It was abit short now, think it will be the 1st & last time wearing it. As yesterday, we sat her down with us on the table & had lunch together from the steamboat. There were many relatives who take turn playing with her. Me? I played some card games of course. Haha. The day passes quickly & it was time to go home. Need to get her to sleep early as we going to malaysia to 'pai nien' early morning.

Happy New Year!

Today is the 1st day of CNY. We went to hubby's parents house to 'Pai Nien' before going on to his grandparent's place. Celest was having running nose. Had to spend a long time before she finally sleep. I guess her nose was stuck & this irritated her. She slept for about 30mins before her toss woke her up.

Her 1st ang pow received was from Gillian, our neighbour. I gave her a blue pouch to collect her ang pows. When she saw the relatives, she will say 'Bag'. Meaning please deposit 1 ang pow inside my bag. Haha. Tried to teach her to say 'Gong Xi' etc buy failed. Well, have to wait till next year then to hear her say those words. This year i didn't buy any traditional CNY costumes for her. Mainly because i am too tired with baby #2 inside my tummy. Was feeling very tired eversince & didn't feel like doing anything. i let her wear those dresses that i bought last time but haven't wore yet.

She was abit shy when we reached his grandparent's place & stick to me. I sat her down with us on the chair & fed her lunch from the steamboat. It was havoc time after that. Haha. Maybe she had eaten her fill & got energy now. She ran round disturbing the phone, pushing 'ah chor's ' wheelchair etc. Ah gong placed 3 container of goodies on the floor. She came over & wanted us to help open them & kept saying 'please'. She even sat on the pineapple tarts's tin much to the laughter of everybody. It was a day of fun for her.

MMR

Finally brought her to take her MMR last tuesday. We went to AMK polyclinic to try. The waiting time was ok. As usual, Celest was running around the whole place, touching things, people etc driving hubby crazy. During the shot, 2 nurse had to hold her down as she was struggling too much. She cried badly after that. Well, it was always like that during vacinnation time. I expected her to have fever 1 week after. True enough, tuesday she had it. But her reaction this time was quite bad. Her fever was very high & persistent. In the past when we had the jabs at PD, the fever was very mild & it will go down after 1 dose of medicine. Tuesday night was the beginning of the nightmare. She kept whinning? crying throughout the night. Wednesday was worse. Her fever only went down a few degree even after medicine. I called up SBCC & asked. They said that i need to go for a review the next day if she's not well by then as it could be a viral fever etc. Phew! By friday night, her fever finally gone off. But her whining at night took a few more days before it's back to normal now. "Keeping my fingers cross" Hehe

Visit To Chinatown

Hubby decided to bring Celest to Chinatown today. It was very crowded there. Before leaving the house, i told her that later there will be many people & must let Papa carry. Well, sometimes it work, sometimes don't. At least i think hubby manage to carry her for about 70%? Me about 20% & the 10% she was walking. Haha. As usual, she was fascinated with all the lights, people etc. She will go 'wah' 'meimei' etc. Just now, during a standstill, she said 'hi' to the couple behind me & played with them. *faint* Sometimes she is not scared of strangers, but sometimes she will shy away. We didn't buy anything today, i was tired by the time we finished. Strangely, i don't feel any 'CNY mood'. Most probably because i feel very tired these few days.
