GUG Trial on 16th

'Star' Painting

Bubble Time

Thanks to Auntie Pauline for organising this trial class for us.I can't really remember all the details but shall try my best. There were 9 babies in the class. It's a 1hr 30min class. Teacher Ereen & Teacher Fairuz is in charge of the class. The 1st 10mins is Free play followed by Clean-up time & a welcome song for the babies. During the story telling, Celest, as usual, was roaming around, playing with the blackboard, markers etc. She loved sitting on the little chair in the classroom.

The alphabets for today is 'K' and Celest had her 1st taste of Kaya as well. Teacher Ereen drew a 'star' on her hand which she kept looking at the "tattoo"... heehee... Magic Mat time. Think it was her 2nd time to come in contact with those paints. The 1st was in JG trial. Celest appeared to dislike the paints. Maybe she found it too messy. Their task was to stamp starfruits - star shape. Before that, we actually had a little tasting of the starfruit which she kinda like it... Maybe I should get some for her to eat next time.

As expected, Celest dirtied herself during the session. Haiz. Should have taken off her cardigan first. Celest tried to put the 'food' into her mouth which ended paint on her mouth area. What a sight to behold. Haha. Can only remember it in my memory. After that, it's wash-up time & snack/break time. She seems to like the zoophonics part in teaching us the pronounciation of the alphabets. Bubble time is her favourite segment as usual as in the video. Then comes the 'torchlight' game to test our skills. Next, we proceeded to the Music room for songs/dance sessions.

Finally, comes Goodbye time. 1hr 30mins of full activity is certainly very tiring for the mummies as well. We decided to sign Celest up for one term to try it out and the class is starting in Oct and end in Dec.

Sunflower's House

Mid Autumn Festival 2007

' Wei Wei'

Daddy & Mummy

Today is Lunar August 15, mooncake festival. Didn't really feel any excitement as it's just like any normal weekend. We went to Takashimaya to grab some last-minute mooncake deal and bought a 2pc box of 4-yolk baked at $22 only and it's BUY 1 GET 1 FREE!!!
Some vendors didn't offer much discount though. Grandma bought a box of 9pcs mini crispy yam type with yolk at only $25. Well, if not for granny's intelligence about these discounts, I wouldn't have came down and bought for my own consumption. Heehee

We had our dinner at Holiday Inn Atrium - Melting Pot Cafe. It was a BBQ Buffet. The spread wise was ok only, abit disappointing though. Preferred the one at Plaza Hotel at Kitchener Road. Celest, as usual, was distracted by our food spread and refused to eat her plain porridge. She liked the potato though. Celest was facing the glass lift and when a lift passed by her view, she would go ' Wah' loudly. After dinner, we brought her for a lift ride. Luckily, we can access the highest floor 27th without the need to use the key card. I saw 2 JAL cockpit crew at the lobby area. Think they are reporting for flight soon. How I miss the good old days again.... sigh........

After sometime, Celest was restless in her high-chair and wanted to go for walk. She went around to mingle with other patrons. When we reached home, we brought Celest downstairs for a mini lantern parade with Uncle Simon, Auntie Patsy and Xuan Ye. Guess I was the only one who enjoying the atmosphere as I carried the lantern most of the time. Celest wasn't interested in lanterns as she was busy running about...
Met a couple was walking a big dog. Didn't know what is the breed though. He he. Celest was excited and she ran towards the dog. *Faint* I chased after her for fear that she would put her hands into the dog's mouth. Phew! Looks like Celest isn't afraid of dogs as she kept touching the dog and hitting it. Lucky it is a mild tame dog.

Also met a little girl carrying lantern as well. She look small & petite but she's older than Celest. She was born at the end of April and she can converse quite well. Her mum said that she can say 2/3 syllabus words now. How I envy that. While I was patting Celest to sleep, I told her that I will be very happy if she can speak soon.

Miracle do happen. Ha ha. I was telling her to call me 'Ma Ma' which she did it very distinctly. I asked her to repeat again which she obliged. But after that, she went back to her usual ' Mama Mum Mum Mama Mum Mum blabbering again. Never mind... I will try again when she wake up tomorrow. Hope she can still remember it and miracles will happen again...

Celest's 1st lantern. Bought in 2006 when she was about 4mths old.
Got this at Vivo City during the lantern parade 2007
Bought by grandparents this year 2007
Gift from Uncle Simon's Mom

Playgroup @ Sunflower's House

Sunflower had invited us to her house on sat 22nd. When we arrived, Dal and Kissbb were already there and we met Wen at the gates. Upon entering the house, we saw soooo much toys on the floor. Really a toy kingdom, think ours is only 20% of it. Celest helped herself with all those toys, especially the 'red car'. She wanted to sit on the car for long time, if possible forever, and even "fight" with other kids. *faint*

I wanted to buy one for her but the thought of her outgrowing the toys made me think twice. The other time at Auntie Cecilia's house already saw a similar 'aeroplane type' and she was quite fascinated with it. The other toy that she liked was the Little Tikes House and balls... I was relieved when Celest did not insist on climbing up/down the stairs or else I will be very busy & tired. When Fi's Jaezen came, Celest went up to play with his hairs again. Oh no! Haha.

After that, we went out of the house to play with bubbles. By then, Celest was tired as her trademark scream was missing when bubbles appeared. Overall, it was enjoyable to see all the kids playing happily together and interacting with each other. Hope we can have more of such kind of gathering often.

Visiting 'Po Tai' Malaysia

Always like to disturb people's hair

Greedy Pig. See where got food will go there.

Seems to love this armchair. Always climb & sit on it

The little girl behind & the boy are Celest's cousins.

On 20 September 2007, we went to malaysia to visit my granny and we stayed overnight as usual. When we first reached there, Celest was abit scared of the new environment and sceptical of going into the house. After some ice-breaking game, she grew accustomed to the environment. Granny was cutting her mummy (aka Po Tai)'s hair and also Celest's hair as well. Celest struggled by pushing away the scissors and resulted her hair was cut in a crooked manner. Boohoo. Nap time was abit cranky and later than usual due to the environment.

Armchair was her favourite place. Guess it's something new & fun to play with. I was worried that her legs would get entangled in it. What about Daddy?? He was sleeping most of the times...
In the evening, her cousins returned back from their childcare classes and she seems to have an affinity with her cousin, Shengyuan. She kept chasing after him and disturbing him, making him feel shy. The most classic moment was when she went to kiss him twice and his reaction was so cute. But but...when she did it the 2nd time, Shengyuan counteract and kissed her back. hahaha...

I didn't capture it on camera as evidence but I will remember it always. Guess this will hound Celest when she grows up. Even though Celest is only 16 mth old, she is no pushover. See the 1st 2 pics & you will understand what I mean. kekeke

The next time when we come back will be Xmas day for my cousin's housewarming. Looking forward to that very much as it will be crowded and I can get to see some relatives whom I have not met for a long time.

Look Alike

Sick Again!

Oh no! Celest is sick again. Really wonder why being a breastfed baby for 8mths+, my immune system is still so weak, got sick so easily. Any answer?

All started last week when her body temperature hit 38.8+ degree celsius on Tuesday but the reading went down by the next morning. Thursday, it came back again but soon got well after that. Celest had little bit of diarrhoea, pooing twice that week. It was only over the weekend that her diarrhoea worsen and she started coughing.

Today her cough was rather bad , causing her sleep to be affected to one hr throughout the day instead of the three hr's sleep. Pray hard that she will have a good rest at night. I applied vapour rub on her body and hope it works. PD said that it was a case of stomach flu which led to mild bronchitis now. Worst still, she had a bad nappy rash due to her diarrhoea and got 3 teeth coming out!! It was so complicated that I don't know where her discomfort lies sometimes.

Anyone got any PD to recommend? I am getting uncomfortable with the current PD. Maybe will try back Dr Ong next time. Auntie Celeste's Dr Lim is good but pity that his clinic is too far for me. Hmm...

Tired Tired

We have not been sleeping well since Celest turned one year old as she woke up almost every night, crying in her sleep. I am getting lethargic as each day passes and I hope that she can sleep through the night.
I will feel lethargic, sleepy and short-tempered even when I just woke up. I would flare up easily and becoming more easily irritated. I asked myself why her sleeping pattern changes. Teething? But it been coming to 3 1/2 months already. Good nights can be once/ twice a night.. Bad nights is 2/3 x in 1 hour. How to have enough rest? Only when she nap during the day, I have the time to do the household chores, such as cooking our meals, as she is very attached to mummy.
I recently had sneaked out of the home during her naptime and went to do marketing at the market. I'm aware that it is dangerous to leave her alone in the whole house but I have no other options. It is tiring for me to RUN to & fro the market and be back in 15-20mins with my heart worrying about her at home. Sometimes, it's her sleep timing/ weather/ housework etc that I can't bring her to the market before her nap, if you are thinking why I didn't bring Celest along.
My body is aching now and daddy helped by massaging the aching parts. My back is so stiff and my posture is quite bad due to carrying Celest for long time. Slouching & using my big tummy to support her weight....

National Day 2007

Outside Central Mall.

I think for next year NDP celebration, daddy will definitely be booking a room at Ritz Carlton Hotel. Yipee!!! This year, we didn't really prepare ourselves for the outing as we virtually brought nothing at all. We can only be envious of those who brought their mats and refreshments along. We stood at a grass patch, just outside Fullerton Hotel, near to our original intended sport, One Fullerton, due to large crowd turnout. Lucky for us, Celest was at her best behaviour on that day. Maybe she was afraid that police officers would arrest her if she misbehave. Hahaha
She sat quietly in the stroller for quite some time before she started to get restless. Her changing mat was placed on the grass patch and used as a mat. It was a wrong move as many insects started to 'join' us in the celebration by hopping onto the changing mat and I hate crawling and flying insects!!!
We arrived at about 4pm+ and waited for a long time before the helicopters, carrying the national flag, appeared in the sky. Celest was looking at the helicopters with much excitement as they were flying at a very low level. After that, it was more waiting games for us until the night fall. Celest slept in my lap on the grass and both of us looked unique as most people were standing while we were sitting in the centre. Celest woke up just in time to witness the magnificent firework displays. The feeling was different in seeing the diaply personally compared to watching it over the television. Celest wasn't afraid at all & was looking at it intently.
I planned to book a hotel room and invite our family members to enjoy the NDP celebration in comfort next year.

Recently...

Yesterday, I realised that Celest has 2 new teeth on her upper jaw but it did not grow in sequence. Her upper jaw originally had 4 teeth but the 2 latest teeth did not grow next to existing 4, as I thought. Celest is running a mild fever and I hope that it will subside off soon or else her play date with Dal on Thursday will be cancelled. :(

Just remembered something sweet which show that Celest understand certain instructions or should I say selective hearing. One day, I was in the kitchen eating my profiteroles when Celest came along. I asked her to pass one piece to daddy.. Ha ha... I was expecting Celest to eat it on the spot but instead, she went off to look for daddy. I followed her to see if she ate the profiteroles but she didn't! When she was giving to daddy, she made 1 last action of trying to eat it. Sounds bad here, but it made me think of a dog. Oops!

Another surprise is one morning, I was spreading tuna on the bread for breakfast and I got Celest to pass the spreaded bread to daddy & YiYi. She did it so well that we clapped and praised Celest...

I am thinking of taking out the Bumper Mat again as she mastered the art of crawling up on the sofa now. I'm worried that she would fall down if she don't sit properly. All these things really display her growing up and how I miss the good old days when she was still a newborn baby.

During Reymus's full month celebration, Celest was so attached to the baby that I had to pull her away from the rocker as she kept touching Reymus and kissing his legs. Ha ha. I was too tired to film down the whole process. Is this a sign that she want a playmate? Hmm..

Are These Call 'Terrible Two'?

Lately, Celest has been getting on my nerve as she discovered the joy of going into the kitchen and ransacking every cupboards that she could reach. To make things worse, there are fragile items placed in the cupboards and she had accidentally broke 2 items. I tasked daddy to put those locks in place soon. Safety gates? Hmm...

As daddy is a thrifty person, I worried that it will be another white elephant and daddy will be saying: "See, told you not to buy liao. Now it is just sitting there to waste like the Bumper Mat."

Beside the cupboards, Celest also explored the trash bin by lifting the bin lit and rummaging through the "treasures" (commonly known as rubbish). This really makes me mad as she has the habit of putting her fingers into her mouth. The canned foods are kept in the bottom drawer and guess what? She went to lick those cans... *faint*

A few days later, Celest developed another hobby that is playing with the toilet bowl. * Faint* Those I have mentioned earlier are only related to the kitchen area so more to come....

Living Room? I have put in place quite a number of preventive measures which Celest found it difficult to penetrate.. Oh well, she would just mess up the place by throwing the books and toys around, playing with electric switches, pressing buttons of remote controls, throw my CDs around, knocking toys against the GLASS coffee table, pulling the leaves of daddy's fengshui plants and the list goes on.. Ha ha.Is this worse than what she did in the the kitchen area? I don't think so...

I wish that she could behave like other kids who are glued to the TV for some time so that I can do my own stuff. I bought alot of CDs for her to sing but sad to say, only the CD that I bought from Carrefour, containing nursery songs, managed to capture her attention the most. The other CDs can only attract her attention for about 10 minutes, the most.

Whenever she see me using the computer, she would ask me to carry her. She would then handle the keyboard and mouse and be facinated by her actions through the monitor... Well, if I refused to carry me, she would play with the computer switches and switch off the computer's power supply...Arrghhh... now that she's taller, she can reached for the 'restart' button on the CPU instead of switching the power supply off. I'm worried that she will get electrocuted one day if she continue to play with switches..

How i wish I can have one empty room, with cushioned floor, as her play room. But again, I don't think she will stay quietly in one room. Hernext favourite place is the master bedroom and our side tables are her target. Our personal things will be messed up and thrown all over the place by her.

I remembered once that she accidentally turned on the air con for 2 bedrooms and I was wondering why the rooms were cooling. I always remind daddy to wear his wedding ring as Celest like to search for daddy's ring placed at the side table and play with it. I told daddy that it is dangerous for her to play with his ring and if he wants his ring the next time round, to search for it in her tummy.

Seems like I am under tremendous pressure as I cannot remember a day where I did not yell at her.

Car Ride

Merlion Park

Met up with my friends, Dal and Fong Ing, at Merlion Park. Celest was attracted by waterfall and kept running towards there, only to be stopped by me. One Fullerton is really a nice place to relax on a sunny weekday afternoon and not to mention the breeze there. I enjoyed watching 3 toddlers (including Celest) playing and running around. Guess that is a good thing of being a SAHM. Can bring kids out to any places as and when they like and more importantly, it is less crowded during weekdays. JZ is a well-behaved boy who was holding his mummy's hand strolling around, unlike Celest, who ran around.. heehee... After that, we retreated to a nearby "Starbucks" outlet where the toddlers had their milk while we were enjoying our coffee.
